Batten Studio makes multi-page HTML website templates. Every one is hand-built: plain HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript, no build step, no framework to learn, and no page that falls apart when a script fails to load.

The name is the method. A batten is the strip that ties a frame together before any surface goes on it, so the page architecture gets decided first, and the styling answers to it. No two templates here share a skeleton.

02 HOW EACH TEMPLATE IS BUILT

STRUCTURE FIRST: The page skeleton is drawn and checked against every template already in the portfolio before any styling starts. A different colourway on a shared layout is one template painted twice, not two templates.
MULTI-PAGE: Five pages is the working default, with real files and real links between them. Never a single page wearing anchor navigation.
DEGRADES HONESTLY: Counter values live in the HTML and animate up to what is already there. If the motion library never loads, every page stays readable and nothing reads zero.
ORIGINAL ARTWORK ONLY: Every illustration is drawn as vector artwork for the template it ships in. No stock photography, no hotlinked placeholder services, and no third-party brand logos anywhere in the product or its previews.
ACCESSIBILITY IS NOT A PASS: WCAG AA contrast in both themes, correct heading order, visible focus rings, 48px touch targets, and support for reduced-motion, reduced-transparency and increased-contrast preferences.
DOCUMENTED: Every template ships a README, a full styled documentation page written for someone who has never edited a template before, and a plain-language licence.
